How it works

How it works

We are based at Breck Primary School in Poulton-le-Fylde where our weekly training takes place. We work together with a number of excellent partner schools in the area to deliver both high quality training and high quality placements for our trainees through our one year teacher training programme. We have delivered initial teacher training programmes for many years and have built-up an excellent reputation for supporting prospective trainees.

Training Sessions

Trainees have weekly training sessions delivered by experts and experienced practioners. These are held in the ITT Training Room at Breck Primary School in Poulton-le-Fylde and occasionally at Lytham Hall Park Primary School. Our Manchester based partner Bright Futures SCITT, will on occasion deliver training remotely and trainees will be able to join online.

The majority of our trainees’ time is spent in school, learning on the job in at least 2 different schools for over 120 days in the year. They work alongside experienced teachers who will mentor them and offer support every step of the way. Our partner schools are a variety of good and outstanding schools across the Wyre, Fylde and Lancashire area.

Additional Benefits

Our programme includes additional resources, expertise and wider networking through our Manchester based partners Bright Futures SCITT. Bright Futures SCITT is a school-led teacher training provider which sits within the Bright Futures Development Network. They are part of Bright Futures Educational Trust – a multi-academy trust made up of richly diverse schools across Greater Manchester and Blackpool.

All our courses are QTS with PGCE. The PGCE element is delivered through the University of Manchester with 4 days over the year spent in Manchester with full access to all facilities.
