University of Derby

Our PGCE is awarded through The University of Derby. 

The University of Derby is listed in the Top 20 Universities for Teaching Quality and Student satisfaction (Times, Sunday Times and the Complete Good University Guide 2024) and their PGCE programme has been ranked as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. Trainees have access to all university resources plus a dedicated personal tutor, with 3 assignments to pass in order to qualify.

The PGCE qualification is worth 60 masters credits. The course unit titles are as follows:

Trainees will spend 8 days throughout the training year working with the university’s expert team. 5 days are online and 3 days are spent in person in a meeting room at a hotel in central Manchester, making the PGCE easily accessible to all.
